‘Sie werden bei mir nicht Philosophie lernen aber—philosophieren, nicht Gedanken blosz zum Nachsprechen, sondern Denken.’
“You will learn from me not philosophy but to philosophize, not thoughts to be imitated but to think.”
—Kant

Where a Session Might Begin [AI created]
When you reach out, it can help to know that a session doesn’t have to start from nothing — though it’s also fine if it does. Often it starts with one of my instruments as a door into the room, even though where we end up together is never fixed in advance.
Sometimes that door is LBT&C: you bring a specific problem — a recurring worry, a decision you’re stuck on, a belief that keeps causing you pain — and we work through the reasoning underneath it together. This tends to be the most structured entry point, useful when you already know roughly what’s troubling you and want a clear way in.
Sometimes it’s horary astrology, which can open in two directions. A question can be genuinely practical — should I take this job, will this move work out — and we can read the chart for its own sake, as a real answer to a real, bounded question. But often a mundane question is really a philosophical one wearing a smaller coat. “Will I get this job” can open into “what am I actually seeking, and why does this decision feel so weighty” — and when it does, I’ll follow it there rather than stopping at the horary answer. Which direction we go isn’t something I decide for you in advance; it’s something we discover together, depending on what the question turns out to want.
Sometimes it’s tarot — a card or a small spread pulled in response to whatever you’re currently sitting with. Tarot tends to be the least structured of the three, less a question-and-answer format than an image dropped into the room to see what it stirs. It’s often the best door in when you don’t yet know exactly what you’re asking, only that something is unsettled.
None of these are separate services with separate outcomes — they’re simply different keys that can open the same room. We can also begin with no instrument at all, just conversation, and see what wants to come forward on its own.
A note on natal charts: I don’t offer natal readings as a standalone service — a natal chart, unlike a horary question, has no natural end point, and I’ve written elsewhere about why I think open-ended natal work sits uneasily with honest pricing and honest practice. But your natal chart can still be present in our conversation — referenced, consulted, brought in as one more mirror among several — if it’s useful to what we’re exploring together.

Nota Bene:
As a philosopher I aim to assist individuals to learn the art of thinking. I do not teach dogma, or impart facts. I teach people to be philosophers, which means to inquire penetratingly and courageously about existence in all of its aspects and, thereby, to live more meaningfully. Therefore, when you consult with me you are not a client, but an inquirer (just like myself) and so together we are inquiring into your life, which also includes life and existence as a whole.
